Music Writers Exercise 2020

#MWE is a twitter exercise, where you listen to a new-to-you album each day in February, thus spending the whole month discovering new music. After listening to each album, you write a tweet about it. Maybe other people will discover the albums along with you! It’s a great way to get yourself to listen to things outside of your comfort zone, or maybe albums that were on your radar but you never got around to.

I participated last year and some of those albums have become absolute favorites. I’m hoping to discover more favorites this year. I’ll be copying the tweets I write about the albums here, updating each day. Remember these are tweets, so I could only fit so much into my review.

February 1: Fountains of Wayne — Utopia Parkway

This album is sweet, almost to the point of overdose. It starts out fine, but sort of meanders halfway through. The kind of songs a guy with an acoustic guitar would sing at a party in the suburbs. 7/10

February 2: My Morning Jacket — The Waterfall
